First of all I would like to mention that there are not things for free nowadays. The so called free education, guaranteed by the Polish constitution , is actually pure fiction. Universities are receiving funds from the states budget. This means that by paying taxes we already give money to these institutions. At the same time most of the students are obliged to pay for their education. This situation raises a fundamental question, maybe it would be better, more efficient if we were to exclude the state from this process? Money would be allocated and used more efficiently and adequately if every student would pay for his own education according to his needs. Of course such a radical change would require establishing educational credits, loans, subsidies by the state or by the commercial institutions. Such a change would benefit the educational system and raise the level of education. It would also stop the fiction of free education and many pathologies connected with it.
After all knowledge is an investment, let us treat it this way then. In my humble opinion education should not be free for every one.
